Media: 4 Minute's Jihyun Wardrobe Malfunction on Music Bank
On May 17th, while performing 4 Minute's newest title song 'What's Your Name?' on Music Bank, it can be seen pretty damn clearly around the 1:45ish mark that Jihyun bra unclipped. Check it out below.
Honestly, after T-ara's ex-member Hwayoung malfunction on Inkigayo as well as other idols' such as SHINee's Taemin's malfunction, I have had it up to here with how stylists' dress the idols before they go on stage. Though Jihyun's didn't show as much as Hwayoung, I still just feel the need to leave an open letter to all K-Pop stylists out there.
Dear stylists,
I know you're sometimes color-blind when choosing clothing to dress up idols onstage, but I really would appreciate it if you can... ya know, dress them up with something less hazardous and atrocious. I mean, a regular, average looking t-shirt like SNSD pulled off would be fine rather than those pastel, 5 dollar-looking ones. Not only would it save money, but it would save the nip slips and the "Like It or Not" clothing articles.
Would you do that for me, stylists?

Review: 4 Minute - What's Your Name? (이름이 뭐예요?) Music Video
4 Minute asked 'What's Your Name?' with their long-anticipated comeback on April 25th.
After more than a year of waiting, 4 Minute finally released their new album as well as new video for 'What's Your Name', still leaving me with mixed feelings and emotions after I watched the video four times and listened to the track about ten.
The song
First, to be quite honest, 4 Minute usually brings out songs that a great and catchy, however, just last for a little while, this song not being an excuse to the 4 Minute's song discography. Second, though I like the song beat, yet, I find it... like... Something I can't put into words without constantly contradicting myself due to my own inherited confusion.
It's trying too hard to be a comeback for the five girls and it was just not right. Or maybe, it tried too little to be a comeback for the five girls and it was right. The song fit them, but it didn't fit them. The song was good, but it wasn't good. HyunA sounded like Pikachu but HyunA didn't sound like Pi-- I'll stop there.
Third and finally, the lyrics make no sense at all. At one point, someone's talking about how they want to know a person they've never met or seen before's name, but two seconds later, they say they're not an easy girl and asks the newly-met boy to spend the night with them.

The music video was more or less a disappointment. It was a mix of really bad acting, a really unclear story-line and the remnants of really bad lies. For those who remember, Cube Entertainment revealed months ago upon the announcement that 4 Minute will be having a comeback soon, that 4 Minute will go back to their concept from 4 years ago... but oh boy, was I fooled. Sure, I'll give this to Cube: the majority of the video was kind of like the Muzik/What a Girl Wants/Hot Issue days but....
Did I really need to see HyunA's non-existent ass everywhere?
Honestly, I was really really hoping for 4 Minute to go back to previous times because I wanted to see HyunA most of all going back to previous times without the Cube over-sexualization of their female performers. Was that so hard Cube?
Previously, I used to excuse HyunA's constant floor-humping and self-groping choreography because I knew that Cube just wanted to make some extra cash... however, now? I just simply sit there and let it happen.
It's getting a bit redundant now.
In fact, Bubble Pop was okay but after Trouble Maker and Ice Cream, I really couldn't anymore. Enough is enough, Cube.
The dance
The dance was pretty decent, one of the only positives of my review. I have no complaints to the dance. It looked fun and easy to learn, the 'La La La' and '이름이 뭐예요? 뭐, 뭐예요?' part being the most memorable part of the dance.
To Sum It All Up
To sum, I was disappointed with this comeback. Not only was the song pretty much average, but the over-sexualization of HyunA is just getting on my nerves. Hopefully, in the future, when Cube Entertainment says they'll go back to a concept towards their debut days, they let everyone go back to a difference concept... including, HyunA.

Bogus Blabber: HyunA Ice Cream nominated for MAMA 2012
The song that came out 3 days ago was nominated 2 days ago... being out for only ONE day.
This nomination seems oddly suspicious and my mind can only think up two possible answers for this:
1) Bought her way to the top:
Cube Entertainment pulled a SISTAR and bought their way to be nominated
2) She gave them the goods:
She bubble-popped in whoever the hell it is making the nomination's face and then 'melted them down like ice cream'.

Before watching this music video, I was anticipating the same old Pikachu, squeaky-squeak singing and squeaky-squeak rap. However, when watching this music video, I was surprised that the Pikachu has evolved to a Raichu (yes, I know my Pokemon. Don't judge me) and was actually not as bad sounding as before!
Yet, alhough HyunA doesn't sound like Pikachu anymore, it doesn't mean I am completely impressed by this song and music video. It wasn't as catchy as her previous songs Bubble Pop and Change even though her vocal and rapping ability improved a lot.
The dance was average and wasn't that memorable nor was the music video. In fact, the best part of the video was the part when PSY appeared in the beginning and ate all of the ice cream--I even chuckled a bit at that part--yet the rest just seems like a blur, me not remembering it much at all. This comeback was basically just meh and didn't really make HyunA prove herself or add more on HyunA's behalf.
To conclude, this comeback was something I actually anticipated, but wasted my time anticipating over. It was good, yes. Cube Entertainment and HyunA spent a little more time in this comeback, yes. But was it mind-blowing and even comparable to her other songs? Hell no. I was expecting something beyond this... but maybe it was just too much to ask for.
