After School's Scandal Shows Idols Fans Aren't Shit

Better late than never, the-falling-from-their-height-after-goddess-Kahi-left group, After School, found themselves in a prolonged problem when the girls forgot to wave or acknowledge their fans during the Idol Futsal World Cup on MBC, having fans who waited hours just to simply see their faces in person (they're not even asking for much interaction, people!) being ignored and feeling rejected afterwards. Many attempts of the group members or even the agency to cover up the problem have been released in order to basically quiet down the fans and keep the group afloat (i.e. member Raina, Pledis Entertainment, even some delusional fansites). Regardless, no one is taking that shit to account and instead of being insane, many fans are either just letting go of the group because they feel as if the girls do not value them/lost their roots or doing that plus advocating revenge and shitstorm towards After School.

After School: Fooling delusional fans since 2009.

Nevertheless, though this matter does seem somewhat small, I want to take light to it because it actually should be taken into account more in the future. Something similar to this, the incident with Lee Jong Suk, an upcoming top star, happened just in March of this year, in which he simply ignored a fan who waited for hours with hopes to give her sole reason a present but he ignored her and pushed her away. Now with this incident happening, it even furthers illuminates the harsh reality for us fans that:

1) Idols are making money off of us.
2) Idols are starting to realize they are making money off of us.
3) Idols are starting to realize that the majority of us are delusional but are still a source of money.
4) Idols are becoming more cocky being that they are rich and we are ever-growingly poor (due to them) and are starting/already have began losing the care they once had for us in the beginning when they weren't as rich or known because they have grown into the mentality that we are the reason for their fat wallets.

But gladly, with this new incident, rather than the Lee Jong Suk one where people kind of just brushed it off, this one is starting to show idols that, hey, you can't treat people, especially people who make your wallets as big as they are, like crap. Fans are people, too and have feelings more matter how delusional. Even the craziest fans can turn their backs on you in an instant the second you do something wrong therefore, you must treat the people who are putting the food on your table with respect. Furthermore, it saddens me that there has not been more talk about this issue. No, not just bashing on After School, but the more in general, scheme of things. Even if we sit behind a computer screen all day looking at videos of you, they do have to realize that it is their job to not only sing, dance and act, but also to gain/withhold as many fans as you can in order to let you continue singing, dancing and acting because they make you rich.

Why has that not been implemented in idols' minds already?
That's the real question.

Web-Surfing: An American Boys Over Flowers?

Boys Over Flowers, one of the most well known and influential dramas in the Kpop industry may possibly be remade in America sometime soon. On June 25th, Wazego Collective posted a kickstarter page, hoping to raise enough funds to properly launch the project. They have until July 15th to reach their goal amount and if they are successful, Wazego plans on airing the series on their Roku channel later in the year.

As you may already know, Boys Over Flowers is based off of a popular manga series titled Hana Yori Dango. It has been seen in a number of drama remakes such as the Japanese drama under the same title and the Taiwanese version, Meteor Garden. Each remake has managed to incorporate the core story while managing to add their own respective cultural flavors to keep it interesting without rehashing the same thing over and over again.

So what does that mean if we Americanize the story? Here is a list of some theories I have:

◊ The female and male protagonist will be overly sexualized. Of course, this isn't always the case with American shows but it's a highly common occurrence to see shows filled with heavy sexual undertones.

◊ The series will be darker and more serious. American media sometimes has a hard time mixing drama with comedy without leaning heavily towards one side or the other. I'm not placing any heavy bets on this being the case but I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out that way.

◊ Integral parts of the story will be left out or changed. We all know that when it comes to remakes in America, the stories are almost always warped to favor a more unique plot line or to spice things up. Don't expect the main plot to stick closely to the original story.

Wazego have stated that they have already written up the script and promise to stay as close to the original plot as possible but should we actually believe them?

What do you think? Would you like to see an American version of Boys Over Flowers?

How SE7EN Screwed Up His Career and His Relationship

Just yesterday, SE7EN, Sangchu and other celebrity soldiers caught themselves in quite the pickle, getting caught visiting a 'happy ending' massage parlor (if you don't know, you get laid after the massage!) while not only still on duty, but SE7EN, still in the 11-year relationship with Park Han Byul which he claimed he would be so damn scared if he was caught with another girl while dating her (oh, the irony).
So the story falls out like this, four celebrity soldiers including Rain (who fucked up his career from his military service, too) and KCM (nugu?) were in their motel until around 10PM, then left to go eat BBQ chicken and get drunk. In around an hour 30 minutes, they went back to the motel with their cellphones in hand while the two, SE7EN and Sangchu, went to a happy ending massage parlor afterwards. Later,
The pair came out half an hour later, and when the reporters approached them for an interview, they snatched the mic away and twisted their arms. Undeterred, the reporter asked, “You were just at a massage parlor. It’s currently 4AM, and you came to perform as a soldier. You were just at a massage parlor. Can you comment on this?”. The two tried to snatch and destroy the camera, but when that failed, they said, “We did not commit a crime. We didn’t do anything illegal.”
The reporter asked, “Do you usually drink and go to massage parlors while you perform?”, and they said, “We didn’t drink alcohol at all. We should talk later”, even though they were filmed drinking beer and soju. The pair then left back to the motel in a taxi.
The reporter entered the massage parlor and noted that the parlor did not let anyone under 19 inside. The reporter asked the manager and the manager revealed, “They asked things like, ‘When can we get serviced?’, and I told them ‘Not right now’. I refunded them 170,000 KRW (approximately $147 USD).” The manager added, “No one comes to get just a massage. They come for what you’re thinking.

What's funny is that the manager doesn't even give a fuck about SE7EN's career, throwing him under the bus without hesitation by stating the completely obvious:
“No one comes [to the parlor] to get just a massage. They come for what you’re thinking.”

-

I don't even know the worst part about this: the two guys as well as hundreds of other celebrity soldiers enlist to the military and hype it up like it's the end of the world (*cough* Leeteuk), then get to use their cell phones, go out at night, and of course, get laid, while the thousands of other non-celebrity Korean men unjustly can't use their cell phones, can't go out at night, and of course, can't get laid... or that SE7EN cheated Park Han Byul by going to a massage parlor--the sleaziest, most stupid and probably not even that satisfying of a way of fucking up his relationship with that goddess. Either way, SE7EN obviously didn't end up with the 'happy ending' he was looking for.

Heads Up SONEs (in SG): #2013GGTour

Many SONEs in Singapore should have already found this out, but the officially brilliant truth still remains, that Girls' Generation will be making a stop in Singapore for their 2013 Girls' Generation World Tour - Girls & Peace!

Girls' Generation recently came to Singapore for the '2013 Asia Style Collection in Singapore', and to all the excitement of fans there came 2 photos posted on Instagram by GG members Taeyeon and Yuri coupled with the revealing of the most wonderful exhilarating marvelous shocking astonishing unbelievable spectacular fabulous bewildering extraordinary piece of news.
"GGtour!!! Singapore♥just wait for October♥ #earlyOctober"

"See u soon.. #Singapore #ILikeSingapore"

This will be the 2nd concert in history that GG puts up in Singapore following their last stop here for the 2011 Girls' Generation Tour on December 9 & 10 of 2011. Based on chronologically logical deduction (and all the fancams on youtube of the Girls & Peace concert that has already taken place in Seoul), GG will be performing many more of their songs from their Japanese album Girls & Peace, Korean album I Got A Boy and from Taetiseo's album Twinkle. Several tracks from their album The Boys are performed as well! Definitely not to be missed out are their classics, like Hoot, Gee, Genie, Into The New World, and more!

[More about Girls & Peace]
[Directly quoted from the following members at the press conference for the concert]
  • How do you feel having the world tour? Taeyeon: (All 9 of us) will keep running on without stopping. I think that will be one of the highlights of the concert.
Why will they be 'running on without stopping'? The clip on tvN mentioned that 'This is because the over 2-hour concert comprises fully of Girls' Generation's singing and dance', meaning 'No guest performances, no (backup) dancers, a concert that only has Girls Generation'!
  • Why is the concert titled Girls&Peace? Tiffany: It carries the meaning of SNSD wanting to convey 'Peace' to the countries we haven't been able to visit and to the fans that we haven't been able to meet yet.

The exact date of the concert hasn't been released yet, but as Taeyeon has mentioned, it will be in early October. May this shocking piece of news keep all SONEs in Singapore hyped up for at least 3 more months!

Now, who's excited for their concert!

EXO Dating Sim Game... this can't be good

I was on my tumblr today and EXO this shit popped up on my dashboard.

I was confused at first, not knowing if this was actually legit or not but I took the liberty to download it and was flabbergasted. I spent probably 2 seconds on that thing before closing it down.
It was the epitome of madness.
A creation of a crazy EXOtic.
Which doesn't surprise me being that it's an EXOtic.
Check it out and see what you think about it.

Girls' Generation Members address Plastic Surgery Rumors... but don't say whether they did it or not

Girls' Generation members Yuri, Taeyeon, Tiffany and Seohyun (from left) all met up on Beatles Code 2 and were put on the spot about plastic surgery allegations. The conversation went down like this:

When referring to Taeyeon’s past photo, MC Tak Jae Hoon stated: Your face has changedHa Chun Hwa: Why do you keep bring up plastic surgery?
Shindong: Doesn't that frustrate you?
Tiffany: We go to the airport one time a week  so our pictures are taken at least one time a week. Our concepts change frequently. Therefore whenever our hairstyles change or we lose or gain some weight, the question always comes up and people say “Their faces are different” even though our pictures were taken just the week before..
Tak Jae Hoon: The girls’ faces seem to change every day
Taeyeon: It's amazing what makeup can do.
SNSD: We don't worry about the rumors anymore...

Though the topic about plastic surgery came up, I want to point out that none of the Girls’ Generation members who appeared on the show really even answered the question on whether or not they went under the knife. The only thing they really did was brush it aside with saying that people address the rumors frequently, but they never answered the true question: Are the rumors true?

And although many believers of Girls’ Generation being “Natural Generation” crawl articles about this topic and say that their unnirs are perfect, we all know the truth-- even with make-up, weight loss, aging, editing, lighting and many more variables in the equation that are used as part of an argument defending Girls’ Generation of how they would appear different, such parts of the body like the nose tip and the jawline cannot be altered without cosmetic work being done.
In addition, I really have no problem with people going under the knife, however, when people deny it or just push it aside when it’s undeniably obvious is something that has to be addressed.

New Rookie Youai releases digital "I Got a Boy"; SONEs freak the fuck out

On January 6th, Rookie Youai released "I Got a Boy". Listen to the not even similar to the Girls' Generation "I Got a Boy" track below:

It seems as if basically half the population of the SONEs who have heard the news that their precious unnirs supposedly got their song stolen, they were all quick to jump without even giving thought to the song creating process. Obviously, rookie Youai and her company had the whole song planned out as well as the song title from weeks to months before so this old-styled song shouldn't even be counted as act of copying... in fact, I bet she's as surprised as all of us are as of now and shouldn't be taking much blame for the supposed duplication of Girls' Generation's shitty track.

Additionally, it even seems like the allkpop staff members are also biased SONEs, hinting it by saying:
"not to be confused in any way by that OTHER song of the same name."
and
However, is “I Got A Boy” distinct enough to distinguish itself amongst all the other heavy hitters promoting (or expected to promote) right now?

Oh really, allkpop? Way to be subtle!

I think the funny thing is that when Girls' Generation copies or purchases full and not produced by SM Entertainment songs, *cough* Dancing Queen, Run Devil Run, Baby Steps and many more *cough* no one gives a shit. However, when someone doesn't even copy the song and instead, just simply has the same song title, it has to be an issue.
Obviously, our unnirs are working so hard and are so sad that an irrelevant nobody is debuting with the same song. Oh? They're not? Well according to one SONE on Youtube they are!

Exactly. I agree with you! That's why SNSD has many other songs with similar song titles like Bad Girl, Beautiful Stranger... even Gee!

In conclusion, I think this whole ordeal is just silly. In full honesty, I wouldn't care if someone took a song title because it happens all the time... but the rookie singer is getting bashed to infinity for something that wasn't even intended. I wish the best for rookie Youai being that there's only one time to make a first impression, and obviously, she didn't do so hot on this one.

Shinhwa Junjin and SPICA's Joohyun supposedly broke up?

Recently, Shinhwa's Junjin and SPICA's Joohyun had been dating for more than half a year before calling it quits.

Okay, let me just decode this for a second.

Junjin from Shinhwa is a veteran idol of 35 years old.
Joohyun is rookie idol 26 means the two are 9 whole years apart.
Junjin isn't under a company right now so who confirmed this? Only B2M Entertainment?
The most important one, SPICA are going to have a comeback soon...

Doesn't this whole relationship seem a bit... odd?

The other funny thing is that their entertainment company released the news that they were dating around SPICA's last comeback and now, they're releasing another article around their upcoming comeback that they're done for when in retrospect, not many people even cared in the first place!

Shameless promotion?

And even when Jun Jin said that he would never date publicly again not that long ago but got himself into a public dating scandal with rookie in which is almost 10 years younger than him makes it obvious that this relationship is just for Joohyun's popularity... and I'm actually a bit disappointed in Junjin for letting himself be dragged into such a stupid scandal.

YG's new trend - Don't Hate Me

dont_hate_me

At first, when PSY did it, I felt something for him because he was actually receiving a lot of hate because his viral success. After that, Seungri followed him, holding the sign in shame because of his recent Japanese scandal. However, when Tablo did it, the meaning somehow dimmed off.
