IU Holmes Reveals "Everybody Has Secrets"; Forgot her Scarlet "A"
![]() |
| There we go. |
It's obvious through the teaser that she looks like a young girl who found her mother's clothes and put them on but it sounds like she's going to attempt challenging the standards of the incredibly conservative society of South Korea that brought her downfall to begin with. And with the extremely harsh standards for girls when comparing to guys when having to do with sex scandals or dating scandals, the girls getting all the blame while the guys basically getting off scot-free, I'm really unsure if she could at the very least remain at a decent level of popularity in the long run.
IU In Trouble Again?
![]() |
| Wow, so much scandal. |
"It is true that the two of them recently went out to watch a movie but other staff members were with them at the time. They are not dating so it is not necessary to explain it. They are not dating."
"The two became friends while emceeing together. They both happened to have time after their schedules so they met up for a movie. IU and Lee Hyun Woo are good friends. They also knew that photos were being taken of them. They were not on a date or anything like that."
Both IU and Lee's reps reported.
The more I see 'scandals' like these on the news, the more ridiculous it comes off as. Is the media really that slow that people resort to reporting evident cases like these? Can two people of the opposite sex not hang out as just friends, icons specifically, without it being all over the internet? I understand that they both are renowned and things like scandals are juicy, but when it comes off as patent as this – there is no juice to be squeezed out of it. The journalist themselves most likely enjoys a movie with a friend of the opposite sex, so try to bring out anything unnecessary out of things like this? Even the netizens were bored-- the netizens.
The only thing that was gotten out of this was superfluous bashing towards IU. And may I mention how IU received back-lash and hate while Lee Hyun Woo received nothing? Not saying he should-- not that any of them should- but what's up with the sexist stereotype in society, that if a girl hangs out with a guy she's considered a slut but the guy is not considered anything? Although technology may be rapidly advancing furthermore into the future, people themselves seem to be stuck in the 18th century.
What do you think?

IU finally addresses the Eunhyuk scandal

The scandal which had everyone talking last year was the IU and Super Junior's Eunhyuk's sex scandal, where supposedly innocent, IU, uploaded said image on twitter. Only yesterday did IU finally come clean after the numerous, stupid excuses released by both SM Entertainment and LOEN Entertainment pertaining the scandal, and if you haven't watched IU's appearance on SBS's Incarnation, you should do so right now while also reading the translation from allkpop:
...she started with, "I wondered, why did this happen? Why did I do this? First, I did upload it by mistake. And to be honest, I couldn't even blame anyone else because I was the one who uploaded it. It wasn't that I could even have a hard time because of it [because it was my fault]."
She added, "I was so sorry to many people. Since I did it myself, I thought, who should I feel the most apologetic to? Should I be sorry to the people who loved me? Or should I be sorry to the people who loved the person I hurt (the other person in the photo)? I also thought a lot about, should I go out and apologize to everyone and clear up all the misunderstandings, or should I just stay quiet? I pushed back variety shows as much as I could because of that."
She continued, "I was so sorry. It wasn't something that made me have a hard time, being a burden on me or anything because I should just be sorry to everyone. I'm so sorry."
To be honest, I was actually somewhat appalled at what she said. Even though she did kinda bounce around the question and didn't fully say out 'I got the Eunhyuk D' (which really wasn't expected for her to straight out say it), I liked how she didn't cover it up like other idols probably would've (*cough* looking at you, T-ara) and basically said that it was true. Though I'm not going to completely take sides here because who knows? Maybe my fanfic-like explanation towards what happened was true--what's really funny to me is how butt hurt ELFs are overwhelming the video with 'oppar didn't mean it!' and 'IU's a liar; Eunhyuk is an angel!' and even one commenter saying:
hyuk must have hard time because of your MISTAKE ! :(
as if Eunhyuk's backlash from the photo was more than IU's. Likewise, I believe that if IU wasn't categorized as 'nation's little sister' and more-or-less the Virgin Mary, this scandal wouldn't have been that bad.
IU & Eunhyuk Marriage Rumors, LEON's fishy action and Super Junior's Tweets

In November of 2012, IU and Super Junior's Eunhyuk wrapped themselves up in a controversy that they have been trying to make the public forget about for the past few months. However, today, IU's entertainment company, LOEN Entertainment, announced they will be taking legal action simply on childish rumors of the two getting married, just adding a bit more salt to the wound with just that. As translated by allkpop, LOEN's proposed that they will
...be reporting this rumor to the police and take legal action against the person who first spread the rumors as well as the people who spread the rumors actively. Not only that, [LOEN] will also be taking police action against those who continuously post hate comments against IU, and will be taking legal action against the defamation of character happening on the Internet. [They] are going to take strong action against the action that creates and spreads rumors that cross the line.
Almost immediately, I noticed two outstanding details about this whole ordeal.
The first detail pertaining to the actual statement. When hearing that they were taking action over a rumor, I kind of just inwardly chuckled to myself, thinking, "Hmm... they're taking legal action towards this obviously unbelievable rumor because it's false, however, when everyone thought IU and Eunhyuk were having sex, they even think about taking legal action... maybe because that was true?", me, just refilling my popcorn, enjoying the show.

The second detail I noticed were the responses of the Super Junior members Siwon and Kangin on Twitter towards the rumor. Yeah, maybe I'm a bit sensitive because I am a female but what really got to me was when Siwon tweeted "Congratulations" to Eunhyuk after seeing the rumor as a joke and Kangin replied nonchalantly with "Is it April Fools' Day?".
I mean, what the hell? Is there that little respect for the female side of the controversy, IU, that there needs to be thoughtless and completely uncalled-for tweets by these two Super Junior members? Really, guys? I mean, sure, while Eunhyuk's fangirls simply can say "Oppar didn't mean it" and go on with their lives, IU's career is basically in the dust and all they do is joke about it.
And as seen on netizenbuzz, I'm not the only loon thinking what Siwon and Kangin did was wrong.
[+2,353, -137] It's a serious matter for IU to be taking legal action while Super Junior is sitting around joking about it
[+40, -28] I imagine those tweets would piss off IU fans... Why don't they consider how the female's side would feel?
[+27, -7] I'm a girl and I feel bad for IU. For the men, it's something to laugh over and talk about 'coolly' but it's always the woman that gets all the hate. It also disgusts me that it was the men that created this whole fantasy over IU's imagine to begin with, too.
All-in-all, though LOEN taking action against these rumors is somewhat stupid and arguably one of the most random actions I have seen in the year, I think the two Super Junior members, Siwon and Kangin, definitely need to realize that a girl's career which was ruined with a simple click (or two clicks) of a button on Twitter isn't something to joke about.
What do you think about the rumors? Think LOEN is being reasonable? What about Siwon and Kangin? Voice your opinions below!
IU and Eunhyuk sex scandal
For those who aren't even the slightest bit aware of the new and biggest scandal of the month, IU and Eunhyuk are supposedly dating. This picture surfaced as well as a picture of IU without the visible gown she is wearing through IU's official and personal Twitter account, in which she deleted almost immediately after. For a statement, LOEN Entertainment spoke up with what most netizens speculate as to be a lie and said IU was just ill and Eunhyuk appeared in her dorm to help her, however, the fact that Eunhyuk's shirt is off, they are visibly in a bed and even though of the lack of perspiration on their skin, it's obvious that they were doing more than just helping a poor and ill woman.
My theory of this incident?
Warning: Fanfic alert!
It was somewhat planned, they had sex and IU is far from innocent. I mean, IU even said something along the lines of her wanting to be seen differently as she was seen currently! Looking at this incident a bit closer (because IU deleted the images a little while after they were posted), it seems a bit obvious that it was staged. As a Twitter user, I know that before you post anything on Twitter you click on more than just one button to post it, so the probability of IU not knowing that she posted the picture, in which both of them relating to the sex scandal, is near non-existent.
Not to mention that even before this scandal happened, it was already rumored that they were to be dating with enough evidence to have already started a scandal months ago:
Rumors that the two are dating have been going around, with much ‘proof’ saying the two have couple items. On an episode of ‘Strong Heart‘, where IU was a guest, Leeteuk wrote, “Meeting Eunhyuk’s woman again..“, Eunhyuk wrote a simple heart on his board, and IU wrote, “Oppa, I’m here“. cr. allkpopSinger IU spoke openly about rumors that she’s been dating someone during the latest filming of SBS‘ ‘Go Show‘. cr. allkpop

| Oppar came to help me while I was sick! Oppar didn't mean it! |
IU and Eunhyuk could have actually been dating for some time, had sex some times, too and the uploaded Twitter image was taken during a "date". Maybe, the reason why she posted it on Twitter to make it look like an accident seems as if Eunhyuk was or had already broken up with IU and she used this picture to get revenge on her ex-boyfriend.
Though this theory is most probably wrong , it is most likely closer to the truth than the excuse (IU was sick and her sick, naked friend, Eunhyuk went out of his way to take care of her) that LOEN and SM had came up with!
