Tuesday Talk: Taeyeon & Baekhyun. Your Thoughts?
Hopefully, I don't have to explain much. I trust that you guys, as in-sync with K-Pop as you are, know the situation already (if not, the post about it is a click away). Girls' Generation's Taeyeon and EXO-K's Baekhyun are dating. It's been confirmed by SM Entertainment. It's been talked about by Taeyeon on Instagram in which she felt remorseful for it coming out the way that it did. It's been 'Dispatch-ed', with images of even the two snoodling up in a car and kissing each other. So for all the crazies who believe it ain't so, for fuck's sake, screw your head on tighter.
Anywho, this dating news has been getting a lot of talk lately so I want to see what you guys think about it. There's no right or wrong answer. There's no shaming or angry mobs surrounding your house if you go against the relationship or support it.

End of the Era: Girls' Generation ft. Taeyeon & Baekhyun
Girls' Generation has gotten themselves into a whole bunch of dating rumors this year however, this one gave them their biggest blow yet. Despite all the little 'ranters' guessing that Jessica or Yuri will be the next one in Girls' Generation to come out with dating news, it was actually Girls' Generation's leader, Taeyeon, who we all thought would, if she did end up to be dating, come out with it gracefully... as she is the leader, after all. But alas! She did not! And as we all probably should know by now, her relationship with EXO-K boy, Baekhyun, gave both groups a painful blow, fans feeling betrayed (as usual) but also the general public being sickened by the lovebirds' actions, similar to INFINITE's Myungsoo casual but painful use of Twitter to communicate with his then girlfriend. Regardless, both groups are popular however, Taeyeon's group has been around for nearly a decade when Baekhyun's has been for only around three years yet with both sides getting the hate, I want to decode the reasons why people are viewing this one differently than the other Girls' Generation dating scandals.
1. This scandal busted Taeyeon's act
Remember the post I did a few months ago about how I was scared for Taeyeon's well being? She seemed like she was about to crack at any moment! On all kinds of Girls' Generation appearances, Taeyeon did not seem like her usual idol self... which is seemingly nothing different than the rest of Girls' Generation's recent behaviors as they are now starting to realize that no matter what they do, they have a group of fans who will be with them (read the article about how idols should not treat fans like crap for some reference) therefore, different from back in their debut days, they now give bored, gloomy and tiredsome faces. However, Taeyeon's was different, as she constantly complained about loneliness, making people sympathize the fact that idols were not supposed to date. But, just like Sooyoung how literally the day before her own dating news came out, she complained about how she was lonely in response to YoonA's dating news, fans felt kind of betrayed that they were fooled into thinking that she did not have a significant other and that she was getting depressed because she did not have a significant other. I mean, I actually feel a bit betrayed, too, because I usually don't even show empathy but I did for Taeyeon's case and I'm not even a Taeyeon fan!2. Taeyeon acted immaturely being the fact that she is the senior & Baekhyun betrayed his already betrayed group
Despite the first one being my own sentiments, this one seems to be more of the general public's feels as they believe that Taeyeon should have acted more 'maturely' for her age being that she's ten years into the music business while he's barely even touching his second. She should have taken into account that EXO is just rising in popularity and that they are still in the midst of a scandal in which people were sympathizing Baehyun for. ¿¡Why would Baekhyun, during the midst of the Krisis (Kris vs. SM Entertainment scandal), even think about doing stuff that is remotely human?! Why would Baekhyun go out and do the naughty with Taeyeon when he should be remorseful in his dorm as the public is sympathizing him and his other ten group mates and should take advantage of the situation to get more popularity and fans (this one is actually a serious question)? And why the hell make it so. damn. obvious? Taeyeon should have acted different instead of making it so obvious, different from the other girls, being that she's the leader and should be the most responsible. Taeyeon should have realized that Baekhyun's group is in a situation right now that should not have scandals towards the remaining members of the group and realize that Baekhyun is a rising star. Baekhyun should have realized that the lie about being '35 years old before dating' really hurt gullible fans being that he was the first in EXO to have such a scandal. No one was really expecting him to wait till 35 but he was the first so it put a bigger blow.3. They messed with their fans
Taking this all from Netizenbuzz, long story short, fans feel betrayed. Instagram, by Taeyeon's definition, was a way to communicate with fans. But instead, she fooled fans and communicated with Baekhyun in numerous posts as did Baekhyun. Fans dug out a lot of places where they communicated/made their relationship obvious (summarized from the same Netizenbuzz article. The astericked ones are ones that I'm somewhat iffy about correlating to dating):a) Baekhyun and Taeyeon's similar Instagram IDs.
Baekhyun had put on his Instagram, ExO, not EXO like the others. Why? E and O in English look like the first letters of the first syllables of Taeyeon's name ㅌ and ㅇ in Korean. Because he naughty, naughty.

She put that fugly doll in the picture as a distraction/excuse. She's asking if she can like him because she realizes they're both celebrities and this going to the public can ruin them both.
c) The trip for my dreams, Pikachu!
Long story short, after Kris left the group, fans made the slogan 'This is the beginning' to give the guys strength. He put the picture on Instagram of the slogan as well as, as translated by the same Netizenbuzz article, 'This is the beginning! For my dream! The trip for my dreams! Pikachu! This is the beginning!'. Fans were gullible into thinking this was starting a new and the guys found strength but in actuality, before, Taeyeon wrote 'This is my beginning now for my dream~ The trip for my dreams pikachu'. aka they dun fucked
d) Baekhyun posted 'Euri'.
Taeyeon later posted 'Very eurieurie shikye drink! Euri #Euri'. If you don't know, Euri doesn't mean shit in Korean but it must be an inside joke for the two.

Okay, I don't really understand this one that much/correlate it with the scandal. Taeyeon received a special made Starbucks cup from her fans. For saying thanks, she said 'Taeng kyung very mang ching'. Everyone is blowing shit up since Taenggo is her nickname for fans and Baekyung is his therefore, she must be making a couple name.
f) The famous oreos*
Taeyeon posted, a day before the news, oreos. Baek means black and Hyun means white in Korean. Oreos for Baekhyun, by fans point of view... or maybe Taeyeon was just hungry for oreos.
g) Birthday se--flowers
On Baekhyun's birthday, Taeyeon posted birthday flowers as well as a heart.
h) They went to see Seohyun's musical.
Suho saw Seohyun's musical the day before, but apparently being that Taeyeon was going, Suho went again the next day with Taeyeon in clutch.
i) Taeyeon posted a picture of light.*
Taeyeon posted a picture of light when she went to the beauty salon on Instagram. We all know Baekhyun's power in EXO is light. MUST BE A CODE FOR BAEK DICK.
j) Kyahing
Kyahing means nothing, just a cute thing for Taeyeon to say to fans. However, Baekhyun was seen using Kyahing when talking to his fans on EXO's 2 year anniversary.
Though there are other more subtle reasons (fans just mad cause they're dating), these seem to be the most prominent. People are getting testy with the Taeyon and Baekhyun kissing picture (apparently, Hyori mentioned that when pictures go out to the public and the company admits to the dating, that means there are pictures far worse than revealed to the public. This has to be one of the most 'sexual' images for a idol dater to reveal... a kissing image... therefore, if they are kissing in a car and if Hyori's claim is true, who knows what more they could have done in that hot and steamy Benz?), people are feeling betrayed just because they don't like idols dating... all in all, a bunch of negativity for the two, people were also getting mad because with all the dating controversy in Girls' Generation, they felt like Taeyeon was the last source of singleness that they had left (since apparently, they don't want Seohyun, Yuri, Sunny or Jessica). And although I would be happy and all for the two dating, there's something inside me that actually understands were the betrayed people are coming from (probably because I feel a bit betrayed, too).
Likewise, I just want to bring light on my old articles that I wrote when Tiffany's dating scandal was revealed, asking if Girls' Generation is on decline as well as my hypothesis for Girls' Generation's future and how long it would take for them to disband/who would still be famous post-disbandment. Tuesday Talk: Who'll Be the Next in SNSD to Reveal They're Dating?
The Girls' Generation girls are falling down like bowling pins when it comes to revealing their relationships. After YoonA and Sooyoung revealed theirs at the very beginning of the year, it was almost every fan of the group was sitting on the edge of their seats, waiting for the next person to reveal their relationship, Tiffany coming out with her relationship with Nickhun not even a few weeks ago, Hyoyeon revealing she had recently broken up with an actor literally a decade older than her and Jessica allegedly in a relationship with a supposed asshole which was declined by SM Entertainment since of course, there were no pics so it couldn't have happened.
On the side of the site however, since the beginning of April, there has been a poll in result of the company confirming Tiffany's relationship of the reader's view as to who would be the next Girls' Generation girl to reveal their relationship. And although there were votes for literally everyone who's name was shown on the poll (Sunny having only one vote as of now which was surprising to me), there was one name that stuck out the most:
Girls' Generation's Jessica, currently gathering more than half of the total votes while the second runner up, Yuri literally has less than a third of her votes.
But my question to you, readers, is why you picked Jessica? I'm not saying that isn't the person who I guessed--in fact, if I had to say someone, I would say Jessica, Hyoyeon and Sunny were going to be the next people in that order. However, I want to know your sentiments towards this topic because I am actually really curious.
Why, if you chose Jessica, do you believe she would be the next to release being in a relationship/why do you think Jessica is in a relationship?
And for the people who were not thinking Jessica, why did you pick otherwise and why do you think your person would be the next to reveal their relationship/are in a relationship?

Comment-Ception; Is Girls' Generation on Decline?
The couple whom everyone, except rowdy KhunToria shippers, already knew were a "thing", has recently confirmed that they are actually a "thing" to the media. 2PM's Nickhun and Girls' Generation's Tiffany are now the fourth confirmed to have-happened-at-least-once relationship, with Girls' Generation's YoonA, Sooyoung and Hyoyeon whom we have speculated was dating on a previous article, anyway, in the lead. This couple, different than the rest has been met with more than just love: many people are taking Girls' Generation more into account than just the coupling and commenting as to how Girls' Generation is at their last straw. Whether that's true or not, we'll have to wait and see, but for now, I'll mostly focus on these sort of comments as a whole:

Even Girls' Generation's Yuri has pointed out the validity of the statement. She realizes the short span of girl groups for example, S.E.S, FIN K L, even foreign ones like Spice Girls and Destiny's Child, reaching the top then plummeting to the ground in just years with maybe one or two from the disbanded group remaining in the limelight. And although no SONE wants to admit it, Girls' Generation is not free from that obvious ending. Their recent scandals, more specifically, Girls' Generation's Hyoyeon apparently attempting suicide and hitting her now ex-boyfriend (who's nearly a decade older than her) has emerged this feeling of bitterness towards the group of 9 girls. Many people have turned their backs on the group for years simply because they're growing weary or tired of them, however, after the poor feedback from their recent albums, starting from their Japanese works to even the I Got a Boy and Mr.Mr. album, even the smallest things are taking a blow on their buit-up image. Don't get me wrong, Soshi is still strong, but I wouldn't be very surprised if a few scandals later (at their rate, another scandal is simply inevitable), less and less positive comments will appear and will rather be overtaken by hatred. I mean, they're not getting any younger. Their music is not getting any better. Their attitude controversies with Taeyeon and Jessica nor their dating scandals are getting any less memorable.
Perhaps they truly are at their last straw.
Regardless of the empty threats of SONE fans on the Interweb, the resilient truth should still be made known. No one can say they haven't yet reached their potential or they still have a lot of time left as we always hear and see defenders argue.
They have reached their potential.
They don't have much time left.
They have already begun their gradual fall from the top since The Boys was released.
I'm sorry but not really sorry to break it to you.
So:
The top girl group, Girls' Generation, will not remain Girls' Generation for much longer as stated in a previous article in which bitter argument was released in the comment section, delusion on SONE's part. Although we should be happy the girls are dating, we should also be aware of their obvious fate which is just around the corner. Splitsville. Disbandment. SoshiGone. Likewise, Girls' Generation's Yuri is intelligent and should shed more light on their fate to soften the blow of delusional fans. The fate is simply inevitable. Even though many promise to hold their favorite girl group at the top, it happens to everyone and it can never be changed.
All This SNSD & 2NE1 Postponing is Giving Me a Headache
It's one thing to have YG Entertainment postpone the shit out of things.
It's another thing to have SM Entertainment postpone the shit out of things.
But it sure as hell is yet another thing to have both companies do it simultaneously to show their competition.
And that's what both of the largest companies are doing with their most popular girl groups yet. Girls' Generation and 2NE1 are both said to be having a comeback... however, we will never know when since the second the companies released they were coming back, they've been postponing the shit out of each other, wondering who will finally just give up and release their comeback first for the sake of the fans who are shitting themselves, waiting for a new release.
I' m actually kind of excited about this since it might not be an all-dance video judging by the teaser?
As everyone should know, Girls' Generation and 2NE1 have been said 'rivals' since however long we can even remember. Coming from two rivaling companies, both of the groups having two completely opposite 'feels', both of their fans fighting through the interwebs ever since SONEs got tired of fighting Wonderfuls, ELFs, Cassies... yeah, everyone, for years, Girls' Generation and 2NE1 sure have a lot on their backs now and it seems like, as I remember my High School AP English teacher told me after we just got got finished reading Antony's Oration (for those who don't know, you're probably too young to have read Julius Caesar), if you want to win if a fight, it's better to show your side last and speak last since you'll have the longer lasting impression on the audience since everyone will forget what the hell the first one was saying... which is probably the same advice both companies are going by.
In any means, just like a few years ago with Girls' Generation and 2NE1 had the same "head-to-head" competition aka with Tell Me Your Wish and I Don't Care (wasn't really head-to-head, 2NE1 released their song shortly after Girls' Generation did), I feel as if SM Entertainment is now striking back for the extra two dollars they probably didn't make back then with delaying the shit out of Girls' Generation's comeback with every delay of 2NE1's song until YG finally drops the act and gives up then both of them literally do comeback head-to-head and on the same day, to show who the real winner is... and to show YG Entertainment that SM Entertainment is sure not going to break that fast when there's a clear challenge.

Well, well, well. I always knew Crayon Pop was no good. Plagiarizing concepts, being ilbe bugs, climbing their way to the top with Bar, Bar, Bar which is just alien code for 666... and now, one of the members pushing Girls' Generation's Sunny in the back? How monstrous!...if it actually did happen. Apparently, Crayon Pop is swept into yet another scandal, this time, with their sunbaes Girls' Generation in which one of the members, Way, was accused of pushing Sunny in the back then posing for the camera like the devilish little fiend she is... or at least what people who are almost legally blind think that she is just because of unfortunate timing.Don't believe me? Watch the video clip that the director should be taken some blame for since the quality obviously sucks for yourself, where clearly Tiffany pulls Sunny a little bit closer since she's blocking the Crayon Pop girls (hence why both Sunny and Tiffany move up), Yoona looks back at around 0:08 in a direction that looks like it's towards Way as a result of the push, but if you have logical thinking, would obviously know that Yoona would have to back up a little bit more in order to see Way clearly and was probably just looking in that direction as a result of the Tiffany-Sunny pull, the pushee, Sunny doesn't even flinch or look back at the pusher and Way moves her hand up to her face which were previously down because obviously, if you want to make aegyo-filled peace signs by your face you have to first move your hands up towards your face.

Chrome Entertainment has already spoke up about it however, of course, an entertainment company is always going to defend their money maker in the midst of conflict therefore, I feel like since Sunny now is connected to fans through social networking, she, or SM Entertainment, should clear up it up as soon as possible in order to get this behind netizens.
What's your take on the scandal? Did Crayon Pop's Way push the fuck out of Sunny or was Way just at the wrong place at the wrong time and is innocent?

So... Sooyoung's Dating, Too
Wanting to catch up with Dispatch's great news of catching New Years couple Yoona and Lee Seung Gi on the role, Sports Seoul recently released pictures of Sooyoung and Jung Kyung Ho on a few dates and different from what they were previously doing which was straight up deny it (Jung Kyung Ho even made unnecessary, somewhat demeaning comments about his girlfriend) now that they have pics, SM has gotta go with it! So, Sooyoung who said she was "lonely" literally just one day before their dating news when discussing the SeuNa relationship and Jung Kyung Ho who jumped through tunnels and walls and originally denied it and called Sooyoung a "non-celebrity" (k-netizens having fun with this insult) are now getting praise from cyber-citizens but also hate for not saying something sooner and lying like rugs about it (the funniest was Sooyoung's lonely story just a day before).
So there shoulda been confessing at the start of rumors... cause instead of her image going down with dating, it's going down with lying.
And yeah, celebrities lie all the time, yadda yadda yadda. But I just wanted to point out that I can understand the opposing view and the hate storm being thrown at 'em right now.
Sorry I'm not being "sugar sweet".
Nevertheless, love this couple. Love Sooyoung. Just wish it was easier to confess. Not to mention, Girls' Generation's dancing line seems to be the first to confess/have relationships. Hyoyeon, YoonA and Sooyoung... is Yuri next? And will Girls' Generation change their name to Women's Generation?

Review: Girls' Generation Galaxy Supernova PV
It hasn't been long since the release of Love & Girls in the middle of June of this year. It's only been three months and the girls have returned during their promotions in Japan to release their latest PV titled Galaxy Supernova. If you haven't seen it yet, check it out below!

The Video
Theme/Story: We have another video in which SM continues to leave out the entertainment part of their videos. The video is actually disorienting as hell. All the flashing bright lights and colors actually hurt my eyes while I was trying to watch the video.

Visuals: I'm guessing this is supposed to be a space-like theme seeing that their wearing cheap aluminum dresses in some of the scenes. Also, I'm sorry girls but the skinny jeans aren't matching the space theme you're trying to go for. You should have plastered more aluminum all over your pants so that you can shine like stars in the galaxy, galaxy. Oh!
Other than that chicanery, I suppose the visuals are good enough. They look like they always have (or rather, they look the same as the last time I saw them). Maybe they haven't had any extra plastic surgery this time around.
Dance: The dance is interesting, I guess. It looks like your usual Girls' Generation dance. They decided to play it safe and not try to go outside of their norm like they did for I Got a Boy. However, the problem is that though the song was utter sh*t, the dance was amazing. Girls' Generation could benefit greatly by incorporating more complex dances into their videos. It would make them more interesting to watch.
You can kind of tell how awkward it must be to dance in heels. If you pay careful attention, it looks to me like they might fall over at any point in the dance. Maybe they should take them off and dance around barefoot like Sunmi did in 24 Hours. It would be a refreshing change of pace.
The Song
Okay so the first thing that was on my mind when I listened to this song was that it should be a commercial for Samsung Galaxy phones. For instance when they repeat "lookin at you" about a billion times, I thought to myself "well everyone spends most of their time looking at their phones. It fits". But if you want to get my real first thought when I listened to the song I was extremely cheesed off that they did the completely silent beginning again like Flower Power. I think it's a ploy to ruin your ears so that you can't tell that their are flaws in the song. You notice the silence and then you turn the volume all the way up and then BAM, all of a sudden your ears are bleeding and you can't hear as well anymore.

I've spent so much time tearing everything apart that I forgot to admit that I actually find the song catchy until Jessica walks up and starts speaking in her awkward nasally voice "Oh boy, can you believe the situation?" and then Sooyoung walks up and blurts out "Yeah" and then walks away. I'm sorry (but not sorry) but I laughed my ass off when I saw that scene. The song would have been better off if they cut off that part of the song.
The song aims for a catchy repetition that actually works well and despite the few awkward points of the song, I actually like the song as a whole. I've always considered Girls' Generation's Japanese releases to be much better than their Korean ones for the most part.

Girls' Generation recently came to Singapore for the '2013 Asia Style Collection in Singapore', and to all the excitement of fans there came 2 photos posted on Instagram by GG members Taeyeon and Yuri coupled with the revealing of the most wonderful exhilarating marvelous shocking astonishing unbelievable spectacular fabulous bewildering extraordinary piece of news.

This will be the 2nd concert in history that GG puts up in Singapore following their last stop here for the 2011 Girls' Generation Tour on December 9 & 10 of 2011. Based on chronologically logical deduction (and all the fancams on youtube of the Girls & Peace concert that has already taken place in Seoul), GG will be performing many more of their songs from their Japanese album Girls & Peace, Korean album I Got A Boy and from Taetiseo's album Twinkle. Several tracks from their album The Boys are performed as well! Definitely not to be missed out are their classics, like Hoot, Gee, Genie, Into The New World, and more!

- How do you feel having the world tour? Taeyeon: (All 9 of us) will keep running on without stopping. I think that will be one of the highlights of the concert.
- Why is the concert titled Girls&Peace? Tiffany: It carries the meaning of SNSD wanting to convey 'Peace' to the countries we haven't been able to visit and to the fans that we haven't been able to meet yet.

The Future of Idol Groups: Girls Generation Edition
Yesterday, I've basically encountered two signs from the heavens to create this post, a friend asking me to write posts about idols in the future and me seeing a comment on netizenbuzz that basically just called to me to write an article about Girls Generation's in particular.
8. [+100, -23] It's a worry since all of the kids need to find a career path for themselves but everyone failed their drama attempts last year. It was only that unit with the kids who can sing that fared favorably ㅋㅋ Aside from Yoona and Taeyeon, I fear for all of their futures.So without further adieu, I present you with my prediction of Girls' Generation's individual and group future chances of staying in the spotlight ordered from least to greatest chance.
Hyoyeon has nothing going for her in her future. I feel bad because Hyoyeon is actually one of my biases in the group. She can dance the best in Girls Generation however, she's always placed in the back during music videos, given the least amount of lines and sometimes, not even getting a dance solo. And what's funny to be is how people always say that Hyoyeon should leave Girls' Generation and go solo, but I always think to myself, as what? A solo singer? She has the worst vocals in the group. A solo dancer? I haven't heard of one that actually stayed in the public eye. An actress? She still has left to debut in acting let alone prove that she can act well. And though there's a rumor going around that Hyoyeon is in a relationship as well as her saying that she wants to get married quickly and settle down, if she ever changed her mind and decided to pursue staying in the spotlight for longer, she's stuck at a dead end. I think the only thing that she can choose is the be a Korean gagwoman like Jung Juri.Sunny is stuck at a dead-end, too however, unlike Hyoyeon, she's not the best at anything.
She can sing, but someone can sing better. She can dance, but someone can dance better. I haven't seen her act before and to be honest, Sunny has a 'cute' concept tied down to her which will limit her from elongating her career. I mean, how long can she keep doing aegyo before either everyone gets tired of it or she gets too old and wrinkly for it to be cute anymore? 
she can use in the future however, isn't that great at it, calling the need for years and years to better her acting. Likewise, her singing is at most average and wouldn't enable her to pursue a singing career while her dancing is pretty good however, not actually considered an outstanding and notable solo career. |

Taeyeon is next and after Jessica which may surprise most people. Taeyeon is undoubtedly the best vocalist in SNSD and has the largest fanbase however, there's two things that I really have to point out.
1. She has the possibly the second to least stage presence in the group next to Seohyun. In fact, sometimes when you watch her lives her facial expressions like in the Twinkle performance mentioned above, she looks like she's either acting but hardly trying or just uncomfortable. I mean, at least Seohyun tries to act like she's having fun but still looks awkward... Taeyeon just looks like she's not having fun and still looks awkward.
2. And without stage presence, is Taeyeon that great at singing to keep her singing career afloat? I mean, Lee Hyori's singing is average at most but she can kill the stage... Taeyeon's singing is okay but she can't prove that she can take on a stage single-handedly. Also, Taeyeon even admitted herself
What I can't do, the other members can so they complete it. I think I'm more cut out for a group than a solo.
Jessica is second to last after Taeyeon. Jessica is one of the best singers in Girls' Generation and, she actually isn't half-bad at dancing if you watch her older videos... but she doesn't try at all. Yes, SONEs. I said it. She has gotten lazy. When you compare the Into the New World days to the I Got a Boy performances, you can see it's undeniable. I mean, she could probably have charisma on stage if she tried but it looks like she just doesn't even want to. And I don't even think it's the "Ice Princess" image. Her best bet is probably acting.
In addition, I just wanted to add Girls Generation as a whole for kicks. Girls' Generation has been around for nearly long 7 years, starting back in 2007 with Into the New World, proving themselves with Gee in 2009 and now in 2013 being South Korea's top girl group. Though they're still going strong as of now, I don't think the strength will last for much longer (my guess is 2 years a most) because:
a) Look at all the long-lasting groups. SHINHWA lasted for 15 years. They're men. Super Junior lasted for 7 years. They're men. If you want to be die-hard-fangirl about it, TVXQ as 5? 9 years. They. are. men. The only groups I can think of that are females and lasted long were probably Jewelry (all of their original members were replaced and they're pretty unpopular now) and The Grace (locked up in SM Entertainment's dungeon. Haven't heard a comeback with all 4 of them in a while), The Grace being a powerful vocal group while Girls Generation on the other hand? Not really. If you still don't understand, look at b.
b) Even if they've been pushing a more mature look as seen in their previous comebacks, they're still fetishized by Korean men as the young, beautiful and perfect girl. Contradicting the young, what happens when the oldest member, Taeyeon is already in her mid-20's and the youngest member is now 22? For beautiful, as said before,what happens when members of the group like Tiffany are already starting to lose their girly sheen and beauty? And for perfect, what happens when girls like Hyoyeon, what happens when that perfect girl wants to settle down and start a family like Sunye did?
c) SM Entertainment. It's as if SM Entertainment is already turning them into the next Super Junior, letting them reach the peek of their careers (right now) and when they stop charting so well and doing as good, they'll let them shrivel into the dirt to fend for themselves. Although, SM Entertainment already knows SNSD has a large and strong fan base so they realize they can continue releasing songs that are just meh and people will just eat them up, they're already starting to see a downfall in results and open mouths after the release of I Got a Boy. Like, really, let's be realistic here... how long will the "Power of 9" last?
Review: 'Love & Girls' PV by Girls Generation
Girls Generation welcomes summer with the release of their Japanese single 'Love & Girls'. Do check out the PV below!
Love & Girls has a strongly reminiscent 'I Got A Boy' feel, but with a much more girly tinge to it. It is a fun upbeat song that brings out the bubble pop image in Girls Generation. For this music video, they step out to the brightly-colored outdoors along with large masses of crowds who dance along too (if you look carefully you will notice that the crowd consists nearly all girls except for a few unique guy individuals who cross dress). And I unknowingly began to draw parallels between this PV to 'Like This' by Wonder Girls. They both have a very light, bouncy, refreshing flash mob dance style, though I do prefer the latter.
The song is kind of lacking in substance. Thin vocals + lack of vocal variation especially towards the end of the song = not impressive + forgettable, even the voices of the better vocalists couldn't really shine through. Fortunately, the accentuation of the song by regular whistling and ooh-oohs helped to draw attention away from the vocal void. The catchphrase "na na na na na, na na na love and girls" created a strong focal point for the song too, not to mention that it's been stuck in my head for the past 30 minutes.
The greatest plus point of this song would be the addictive dance moves, before they start getting slightly repetitive. The dance moves are well choreographed - cutesy, somewhat retro, relatively easy for fans to dance along to and extremely complementary to the summer mood. This reminds me of a post on Seoulbeats about 'Music for the Eyes', and at times like these, I couldn't agree more. But to give them some credit, the party atmosphere was really infectious and I couldn't watch the PV without the urge to get to my feet. So this song seems not one so much as to showcase the talents of the members but more of a fun, catchy and relate-able dance track. Hence I wouldn't go as to compare this song to their past Japanese releases, like Paparazzi and Flower Power.

Media: Tiffany's Pitch at LA Dodgers

On May 7th, 2013, Girls' Generation Tiffany officially became the first Girls' Generation member to pitch for the baseball team, LA Dodgers, not only throwing the ball about a mile away from the chosen destination but also leaving some viewers wondering if the pitch was staged to give some attention to the SNSD member. If you haven't watched the pitch already, you can see the pitch at around 4:10 in the view below.
Though Tiffany is already one of my announced girl crushes and one of my inspirations in K-Pop, I leaning towards this pitch being attention-seeking and marketing rather than being for t he actual sport of baseball.
